Battle Pass Challenges (And Solutions!) for Week 8, Season 8

Get jiggy with it! No, not like that!

While the end of Fortnite Battle Royale Season 8 looms ever larger on the horizon, there are still at least two weeks worth of challenges left to tackle before the whole thing barrels over the cliff and we find out what’s buried beneath Loot Lake. Seeing as this is Week 8 and everything, you’d think that Epic would’ve run out of ideas by now, but this week’s challenges are the most unique slate of tasks I’ve seen in a Battle Pass in months. Cool!

Here’s what you’ll be doing over the weekend:

  • Search the treasure map signpost found in Paradise Palms
    • Follow the treasure map signpost in Paradise Palms [Free | 5 Battle Stars total]
  • Use vending machines in 3 different matches [Free | 5 Battle Stars]
  • Deal 100 damage to opponents while using at least one balloon [Free | 10 Battle Stars]
  • Search 7 jigsaw puzzle pieces under bridges and in caves [Battle Pass | 5 Battle Stars]
  • Dial the Durr Burger number on the big telephone west of Fatal Fields
    • Dial the Pizza Pit number on the big telephone east of The Block [Battle Pass | 5 Battle Stars total]
  • Eliminate 7 opponents at Dusty Divot or Lucky Landing [Battle Pass | 10 Battle Stars]
  • Eliminate an opponent from at least 50 meters away, twice [Battle Pass | 10 Battle Stars]

Search the treasure map signpost found in Paradise Palms, etc

Some helpful soul has posted a treasure map on the back of a concrete wall in Paradise Palms, which marks the location of some secret Battle Stars in Frosty Flights. Since this is a two-stage challenge, you’ll have to actually go read the map in Paradise Palms, even though we’ve already charted out where the treasure is for you. As shown above, the map is located on the inside of the south-facing side of a concrete wall on the north side of the center of Paradise Palms. Don’t worry about how you’re going to make it to Frosty Flights from Paradise Palms — since this is a staged challenge, you’ll have to do the second half during another match.

Use vending machines in 3 different matches

There’s not really much of a trick to this one, truth be told! Vending machines like to hang out in the same sorts of places they’d be in real life, so keep an eye out in commercial spaces like Retail Row or the various gas stations around the island. Don’t worry about what you’re actually getting out of the vending machine either, just use one as soon as you see it.

Deal 100 damage to opponents while using at least one balloon

Food Fight is your best bet for getting this done, as it has respawns enabled and those support packages tend to drop balloons pretty frequently. Stick with just one balloon at a time, though — two balloons will slow you down too much, and three balloons will remove almost all of your directional control.

Search 7 jigsaw puzzle pieces under bridges and in caves

The above map shows the locations of all the puzzle pieces on the island, but remember that you only need seven of them to complete the challenge. Food Fight isn’t a good fit here, since the island slowly fills with lava during the match, and Air Royale ain’t gonna help since you’re stuck in a plane the whole time, so good ol’ Battle Royale is probably the mode of choice for hunting these down. Try and go for the pieces that are furthest from the bus route; that should help limit the chances of running into competition.

Dial the Durr Burger number on the big telephone west of Fatal Fields, etc

Honestly, this is my favorite challenge in a long time. It’s so goofy and makes so little sense. As shown in the graphic above, there are two gigantic phones located on the map. We’ve highlighted the Durr Burger phone to demonstrate what they look like, since A) it’s the first step, and 2) Beef Boss rules and Tomatohead drools. Since this is split into two stages, don’t worry about getting to both phones in a single match. And hey, if someone else is trying to complete the challenge when you get there, go ahead and let ’em finish. Don’t be a jerk!

(As an aside, this is what we used to call a “rotary phone.” When I was your age, we’d use these to awkwardly ask our friends’ parents if our friends were home, and then awkwardly ask our friends if they wanted to go ride bikes. Nothing about it was good but we did it anyway, all the time!)

Eliminate 7 opponents at Dusty Divot or Lucky Landing

They just keep doin’ these! Just like with Week 6’s nearly identical challenge, you can either actively try to get these eliminations in vanilla Battle Royale/LTMs, or alternatively, just trust that you will, over the remainder of Season 8, naturally get at least seven eliminations in either/both of these two locations. Food Fight’s center circle usually splits Dusty Divot down the middle, so that’s what I’d recommend for as long as the mode is active. If you’re coming back to this at a later date, I’d probably say that normal solos are your best option — just land at whichever location is closest to the bus route and hope that you’re popular!

Eliminate an opponent from at least 50 meters away, twice

Air Royale was practically made for this challenge, so try your darnest to get this finished while the plane-based LTM is still active. Most folk aren’t great with these planes, so as long as you remember to keep your distance and lead your shots, you should be able to knock this out in a couple matches.

Hidden Banner

Since it’s an even-numbered week, that means a Hidden Banner will come into place once you’ve finished all of the above challenges, as well as all of the challenges from previous weeks. Remember that you won’t be able to see it from a distance!
