Fortnite Battle Royale Getaway LTM Switched to Solos for 24 Hours

The clock is ticking.

From now until tomorrow afternoon (around 1 p.m. Eastern), Fortnite Battle Royale's Getaway limited time mode has been switched to solos, rather than squads or duos, as has been the case until today. This is an enormous boon for anyone trying to complete all of High Stake's challenges on their own, as solo-squadding in this mode is particularly arduous, since the very first storm circle cuts the map in half. This results in a much higher player density at the start of a match, and we're speaking from experience when we say that yo, touching all of those jewels as a solo squad is some real Dark Souls.

Increased player density will still be an issue, of course, but at least in solos everyone will be out to get everyone else, rather than squads of four picking off the odd solo player that tries to step. Epic hasn't said how long the Getaway LTM (or the High Stakes event in general, for that matter) will be around, let alone if solos will be available again after this 24 hour period, so try not to miss this particular boat if you can help it. With the end of Season 5 looming large on the horizon, we wouldn't be surprised to see High Stakes come to an end sometime next week.
