The holidays are back and more apologetic than ever in Fortnite v7.10's third and final content update, which adds new guns to all modes and reinstates 14 Days of Fortnite for an addition seven days.
Those 7 Days of Additional Fortnite are compensation for a miscommunication over when the event would end, which resulted in a non-zero amount of users missing their opportunity to earn all of the rewards. This second round will be active until January 15 at 3 a.m. Eastern, and will also bring back a different limited time mode each day.
Elsewhere in Battle Royale, a new Suppressed Sniper Rifle has been added to chests, supply drops, vending machines, and floor loot pools. Available in Epic and Legendary flavors, the single-shot rifle does 100/105 damage based on rarity, and is purportedly quieter than the existing bolt-action sniper rifles available in Battle Royale. This is a huge boon for everyone that likes to hide in trees and pick off players from hundreds of meters away -- we just hope that the Suppressed Sniper Rifle reloads faster than, say, the Heavy Sniper Rifle, which fires one shot every 37 minutes.
Common, Uncommon, and Rare flavors of the Burst Assault Rifle were vaulted as of this morning's content update, along with all rarities of the Six Shooter, and we're not shedding any tears. The Six Shooter was fun but not terribly effective, and the bottom-tier Burst Assault Rifles have always been last-choice picks for us. Dual Pistols have returned from the vault in their place, without any apparent changes or updates. Meanwhile, Dynamite drop rates were reduced by 40 percent, and the recently-introduced Boom Box received a nerf of its own -- the blaster now lasts 18 seconds instead of 25, has 200 fewer hit points, and is 33 percent less common.
Epic used this morning's update to undo some recent changes to the X-4 Stormwing, making it more susceptible to collision damage and less accurate as a weapon. Stormwings now take 50 percent more damage from collision with structures, and boosting through those structures only reduces damage by 25 percent, down from 50. The plane's mounted machine gun is now 75 percent less accurate, and the distance that players are thrown when struck by a Stormwing has been cut by 75 percent. The planes now spawn 80 percent of the time, rather than 100 percent of the time.
Last but not least, The Block has been updated with a new creation for everyone to avoid: the "DM Arena" by user KojackNumber2, as seen below.
Normally this is where we'd recommend you check out the full patch notes for bug fixes and other minute details, but there aren't any this week! How 'bout that!
