As a preface the rain cap doesn't really come into effect until you get out of Plankerton, low level evolves aren't so punishing, so if you're in Plank and not struggling for rain, enjoy learning about the future.
Until last night I was in a 2 day drought during my play time.
No rain drops in 64/70/76 mission rewards, I got a few from lower level storm rewards but when I capped my storm tickets I got nothing.
I'm trying to avoid wasting them... I have 4x4 star heroes (I made 1 Phase Scout Jess mistake when I was excited about getting a mythic hero), 2x3 star weapons (had 1 but it wasn't energy then got hydra), 4x3 star traps (2 ceiling, 1 floor, 1 wall) and most of my survivors are stuck at 20/20 2 stars... I'm starting Twine, I'm under powered, I try to get all the rain I can and it just straight up isn't enough.
Right now, excluding survivors who are an ever present need for rain drops, I need over 200 rain drops to evolve things up to my current level of content...
(Including survivors that number is too depressingly high to calculate, but it's in the thousands...)
I want to evolve traps so I have more options to help out during missions, I can't due to rain.
I want to evolve (non soldier) heroes to try them out in missions, I can't due to rain.
I want to evolve heroes for squad missions, I can't due to rain.
I want to evolve weapons to try them out, I can't due to rain.
I want to evolve survivors of different personalities so I can switch over to 2 legendary leads I got from the current event, I can't due to rain.
I want to evolve survivors so I can experiment with synergies and have a trap damage/ability damage loadout I can't due to rain.
TL:DR Considering the amount of rain you need to evolve survivors, heroes, traps and weapons even if they tripled the rain rewards you'd still get capped on rain.
How could this be fixed? Any of the following
(a) Drastically reduce the number of rain needed for higher star evolves (the numbers get silly, especially for survivors)
(b) Drastically increase rain drop rates (3 or 4 times current)
(c) Add "rain catching" squad missions small, medium, large rain reward, 20/40/80 (pls no 20 hour missions....)
What do you guys think? Am I being overly dramatic or do you guys also feel limited by what you can do/experiment based on rain drop availability.
Awesome discussion going on here, and definitely some good stuff in the realm of suggestions/feedback. The paths to acquisition of components, drops or not, are on our radar. If you haven't yet I'd check out the last dev update!
